Naps, glorious naps!

Starting in January they didn't want to take naps and so when Bryan was home with them FT in May and June he got them napping consistently but only short naps and with what felt like a lot of crying.  When I was off in July and August I tried having them nap on blankets on the living room floor and they took to napping almost 2 hours every day.  I couldn't get much done because they were in central space but at least they got rest and I got a break.
The closest I put them down to nap was a couple feet apart but most every day one would role next to the other, it was just the sweet.

Last pool party of the summer on the deck:(

They loved playing in water this summer.  Pools, lakes, sprinklers, they were all fun.  They also really enjoyed helping me water flowers, that is why they have their own watering cans.

Lovin food, ok, ok, it depends on the day!

They are getting to be tough to feed, one day they love something, the next day won't touch it.  Corn on the cob, spaghetti, banana bread, smoothies (with spinach even), yogurt, steak and ice cream are usually acceptable foods.  Evan has his one food love and strangely it is "matos" (tomatoes).
So one day Bryan said "Evan go get Claire".  Evan walked over to Claire put his arms around her waist and tried to carry her.  Needless to say instructions are more specific now such as this picture shows, "Evan go get Claire's hand and bring her to dada".  She came willingly, it was very cute.
Don't leave your shoes out unless you want them lost, they both love to try on shoes.
This is a shirt of Uncle Randy's and he just smiled so cute that day.

This is an old dress of Auntie Corrie's.
Playing on the school bus/slide is a great energy burner for the too hot or too cold days.  I like Evan's attitude in this pic.
So we were given this car from older cousins and Evan figured out how to push the button to make it  move and then it was Claire's turn and she didn't care about the button and just used her legs and Evan got so frustrated he hopped on behind her and tried to take over, oh boy!  I think Claire may have been doing it intentionally to annoy him.

Trip to Teddy Bear Park in Stillwater

Evan enjoyed climbing up and down from this.
Wherever there is sand you shall find Claire.  Evan played in the sand for about 5 seconds and then wondered around trying on and chewing on sandals that other kids took off, he kept me busy!

Slides are a hit this year.

Who knew...sunscreen doubles as hair gel!
