Camping with G & G

Blowing bubbles at the campground.

Getting buried in the sand.

Because I have to work such long hours the week before Labor Day, G & G took the kiddos for the week so that they wouldn't have to spend so much time back at daycare!  We sure appreciate the stress relief and I know the kids enjoy camping and time with their Grandparents.

And a little attitude from Claire!

Me (calmly):  Claire, come to the table, it's time to eat. no response

Me (calmly):  Claire it's time to eat dinner, come eat with us.

Claire with hands on hips and a scrunched up angry face yells back:  I do not like it when you tell me what to do.  I don't want you to be the boss of me.  I want to be the boss of me.

Me ( bad parenting moment #836):  I bust out laughing because she was so so serious and her little scrunched up face looked hysterical.

I then calmly said, Claire it's time to eat, I hope you'll join us soon.  She came, sat down and was her usual happy self.  This still makes me laugh, I have no idea where she came up with the word boss because I don't think we've ever used that term.
