After watching Bryan and I skate this past winter, they were wanting to learn to skate, Evan in particular kept bringing it up so we registered them for skating lessons at Roseville Skating Center. We went shopping and bought them the needed equipment and they were so excited to put on their skates and just started walking around and then time to step on the ice and uh-oh, pride turned into fear of falling.
Evan at the first lesson, just fell, got up, fell, got up and repeat for the
half hour. Second lesson, he was scared to step on the ice but did it
however was so anxious that he started sucking the thumb of his glove
most of the lesson and continued to do this every lesson but he keeps on trying and
really wants to learn to skate he says.
Claire mostly just stood in one spot the first lesson, the second
lesson, she refused to go out on the ice except for about 5 minutes due
to a bribe of ice cream and her general fear of falling lingers but she
has made some improvements!
